you are completely wrong on that. LSU offered a pay raise for Jimbo to stay. He feels that if he does well at FSU not only did he turn a program around, he will have the winningest coach in college football calling on his behalf when he is trying to get a job.

LSU's big loss is FSU's huge gain.

It certainly does not make LSU look like a second-rate program. Coaches leave for a lot of reasons. In this instance I think he felt he would be in position to take over as HC when Bowden leaves. If he establishes a successful program there, I suspect there is a good chance that will happen. It would not have happened here.

I think tensions between Miles and Fisher was one of the reasons for his leaving, but I don't believe for a second they guaranteed anything. If he wants the HC job when Bowden leaves he will have to build up a successful offensive program - and even then it is not a guarantee. But he obviously feels he would be at the top of a short list and he is probably right.

It's good for his resume if he can be successful at two top tier programs. He's been after a head coaching job for a while now and has not gotten one. Perhaps adding success at FSU to his resume will allow him to make that next step. I wish him the best!

It certaintly doesn't help our national image since we've had one coach jump from the NFL back to college and now the OC and offensive line coach have left to take the same positions at other schools.

Wondering the same thing. It's what makes me think there is some kind of promise involved. No matter what any of us thinks about his relationship with Miles, if it was as bad as some on here say, we wouldn't have gone 11-2, and surely wouldn't have gotten stronger later in the season. Also, if it was that bad, he would've been sent packing on LSU's terms, not his. Just my .02, for what it's worth, which is probably .02!

He also has the opportuntity to coach a similar talent like Jamarcus in Xavier Lee. Bowden figures who better to bring Xavier along than someone who just finished coaching an athlete that had similar skills coming out of HS.
