that was just a honest question. same reason why chizik jumped from auburn to take the co-DC position at texas.
A "visitor" from elsewhere coming on here calling our coach "Lester". Along with your hundreds of past deleted posts of the sort. Lets see if my hunch is right.......
Dude, there's nothing "second rate looking" about a coach that takes a lateral position at a high-profile school that will most definately be in need of a new head coach within a year or two. Miles' isn't gonna retire, and Jimbo hasn't faired well in other head coaching interviews up to this point in his career. Right now, Jimbo's position at FSU could best be termed a "long term interview".
Here's a quote from an article in the Birmingham paper: Rest of the article: http://www.al.com/sports/birminghamnews/kscarbinsky.ssf?/base/sports/1168424311157570.xml&coll=2
For a coach to take a huge paycut to take the same position at another school does not look good. It would be different if he were moving up from QB coach to OC but he's taking a huge paycut. Would you take a paycut to take another job? I wouldn't. It sends the message that you can't get where you want in a career at LSU but you can at FSU.
Fisher's official salary at LSU wasn't $400,000 either, it was about half that. $400,000 was his total package. You can bet that FSU has a package of payments that are far above his official salary. They can pay him in the team shoe contract or alumni endowments or to run sports camps and other things.
The B'ham News article said Fisher's $425K deal was paid for about 1/2 by FSU and 1/2 by Seminole Boosters, Inc. I wonder if that's the same ratio for the Criminole players:hihi:
