Why do we want Tennessee in the CG?

Playing Florida or Georgia in the SECCG would help our SOS. The BCS SOS looks at our opponents win/loss record and our opponents' opponents win/loss record. It doesn't matter if you play someone more than once.

As for the computer polls, I have no idea how playing the same team twice will affect their calculations.

Ya, I am very surprised that they made the rule so darn quickly.

ONLY if it's a three way tie. If Auburn beats UGA this weekend it all goes back to a two-way tie.

and that's always just the head-to-head matchup, barring a tie, right? And with the overtime rules you can't even have a tie any more, can you?

Actually, if you put any stock into Rick Tellshow's strength of schedule projections:

Tennessee's SOS drops far enough so that, with a loss to LSU in the conference title game, they fall out of the final BCS top 10.

If that's the case, I'd rather play Georgia. Why? One, we can silence critics who say Georgia is the best team in the SEC and we got lucky to beat them and, with a possible jump to #2 in the final AP and ESPN polls hanging in the balance, what's more impressive: a win over Georgia in Atlanta or a USC rout of Oregon State in Los Angeles?

Best case is Tennessee loses, but pigs will fly before that happens.

Guys, IT LOOKS LIKE GA again ...

unless Auburn beats them and then it's a #6/7 Tennessee.

I hope so......I am quite nervous about the AU game...I think we can win BUT Auburn owns us at Georgia so hopefully we can turn that trend around..:D :D :D
