Streetball is SWAC ball, and we ain't in the SWAC...Streetball is what happens when protection breaks down or coverage breaks down or you break containment...and you see what happens when he improvises...Pick 6's, picks deep in your own red zone (2 against UF), etc., etc... There is a member here who watched Russell play in high school and I think he's said over & over again about how he made costly mistakes thinking he could "Will" something into happening...He said that lesser teams always beat them, even deep in the playoffs, and it was almost always attributable to Russell's poor decisions... If he can't reign it in, then that's where he belongs, in the SWAC...Streetball ain't gonna win a national title. EVER. Unless it's a Black National Championship or a Bayou Classic Championship or a SWAC or MEAC Championship... Hell, streetball hasn't ever even won a D I-AA championship...
Your optimism is sometimes wonderful, othertimes unbeliveable, othertimes down right crazy. Whatever the case, I will say you're a true tiger fan. I like to be optimistic also, I just find it hard to be with JR. I hope you are right about him and he turns out to be an ACE. cheers man for keeping a chin up! :thumb: BTW: my Dad is a True tiger fan also, listens to them religously, but you could never watch the game with him. I can barely do it myself. It drives me crazy because he always expects the worst.
He is a young QB and you are correct. It maybe during the period between this season and spring training that casues things to click. Maybe during the sring or after. You never know. I think he needs some time.
At one time I believed Russell would be the future, but after his 2nd year in the system, I don't. As time passes, I get the feeling we got the LSU version of Jason Campbell on our hands. JMO, so don't take it personal guys. Your opinion is welcomed, but if you must attack, read my lips
