WV is south of the mason dixon line, but part of the union, but the majority fought with the confederacy (Stonewall Jackson and more) so WV is really not northern or southern it is its own place Appalachain. Point is it is a lot of things but none of them are mid west.
I lived in Ohio for ten years, and I don't blame those Northerners one bit for wanting to come down south. If they're winning...welcome home.
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't WV only created for the Virginians that wanted to stay loyal to the Union?
Virginia isnt southern and its not northern either. Its like they REALLY REALLY want to be considered "the south" But the south doesnt want them, and neither does the north. Virginia is like that mixed kid in high school. not white enough for the whites, and not black enough for the blacks...
um Einstein....Robert E. Lee, who's considered by many to be THE Southerner, was from Virginia....Majority of his battalion was from Virginia....The home he retired to was in Virginia....More battles took place in Virginia than Louisiana, so I would definitely consider Virginia part of our beloved south. West Virginia left the state of Virginia because of their Union sympathies. Every thing about Virginia screams southerners.
WV doesnt see itself as north or south its definetly its own place. The north wants nothing to do with WV because its culture is nothing like theirs and like I said there was a pretty famous general Stonewall Jackson that wasnt on their side. The south doesnt want WV because its viewed as a union state. So the answer is neither not northern or southern.
How? His family took him (Peyton) to OM games all his life.....His Dad was on a pedestal. His Mom was Ms. OM......Quite a few connections there......LSU sucked at that time......OM was worse......He made a choice that was best for him......It was terrible on his family...all the pressure to follow his Dad. Would you want any different for your son? If he had tons of potential and LSU really really was struggling, would you really want him to go LSU just because you love LSU, or let him go to USC, ND, TENN, FLA, OK, FSU.....Remember----this is your son we are discussing.....Even if Peyton or Eli come up "short" as you say, LOOK at what they are making!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
