Same reason they don't show college hockey; enough people don't really care nationwide...

College baseball is starting to emerge as a major college sport. I think it will become a bigger revenue sport in the future because pro teams are draftiing more college players these days. I think I speak for most when I say I'd rather watch a bad college baseball game than any women's basketball game.

It's one thing not to show it on TV, but for ESPN to NEVER even mention it is just crazy.

    not sure

people have said that for years and while is has grown regionally i don't think it will ever gain a national audience since hockey is the sport north of the mason dixon. also, would you want to watch women's softball or college hockey? id prefer the women's softball or women's anything but im sure its because im in LA. Must be how those yanks feel about baseball.

    Ding!

    Ding!

People in BTR love college baseball along with a few other college towns.

Good point. I hate hockey even more than womens basketball.

Truth is though baseball is growing nationally. The Big 10 is even getting competetive. Last year more schools fielded baseball than any other year. This is gonna happen.

ESPN is starting to expand their coverage of baseball by showing super-regional and key regional games on TV. The reason SportsCenter doesn't mention it is because, at this time of the year, between NASCAR, NHL, NBA, MLB's about to start, the NFL Draft is coming up, golf is about to rev up again, college b-ball is approaching March, and on and on and on, well, their plate is pretty full. And college baseball would crowd the ticker, much less pack Sportscenter.

College baseball now gets serious coverage in local papers and on local TV and radio around the country, and the important late season games and regionals get on regional telecast. Five figure crowds are also becoming the norm during the postseason. The sport is growing in stature. Just give it time.
