Squashing an ideology with military force is a waste of time. occupying land and killing civilians = entices terrorists and encourages enrollment. Again no benefit.

How would you know? How much firsthand knowledge of what goes on in Iraq or Afghansitan on a daily basis do you possess? How much of your time have you invested in counter-insurgency operations?
