I think basically, with everything than involves race, this particular topic is a little tough to swallow. If it makes the whites on here feel any better, the reason the NBA and NFL and college football (and even rap music) succeeds financially is due primarily because of whites. Black athletes "pull" in the fans, while the majority of the fans, who are white, "fund" these organizations. It's a revolving door that can be pushed from both sides. I love seeing black fans wearing Drew Brees jerseys and white fans wearing Joe Horn jerseys. There's no winning this argument for some people.
I'm sorry but that just does not make any sense. Wilt Chamberlain once remarked that if a kid comes in from school and plays basketball until dark five days a week, and he ends up being 7 feet tall, he ends up being a basketball player. Envirionment does not have a lot to do with it. Certainly not the African environment. It is hard work and dedication.

You are confusing being good at a sport with pure athleticism. There is a BIG difference. Steve Nash is very GOOD at basketball. He is not an amazing athlete. Josh Smith is an above average basketball player, but a rediculous ATHLETE. Pistol Pete was a great basketball player, but not a world class athlete. Dominique Wilkins was an incredible athlete. Hard work and dedication will get you as far as your physical limitations will allow. I can go outside and throw the football over and over again, but I will never have JR's armstrength. You can strap weights to your ankles and practice jumping, but you will never be able to leap like Tyrus. When it comes to pure ATHLETICISM, hard work doesn't have all that much to do with it. You are born with it.
Arm strength is just a matter of working out. Accuracy is a matter of practice. I think there are some aspects of sports that come natural to some athletes, such as decision-making, the ability to maintain composure when under pressure. Things like that. But as far as such things as strength and endurance. That is a matter of hard work.
Nice video, but check out how its really done.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1T3ycbawUyA
Is that right? Let's have some fun with this logic for a moment. Let's go with armstrength. From what I hear Luke Sanders is our biggest workout warrior. This guy is in the weight room every chance he gets. Are you saying that if we went to the dorms/apartments where the LSU players live and woke up Jamarcus and Luke Sanders to have a "throw off", that Luke Sanders would win because he works out more? I don't think Brett Favre would be shaking in his boots if we lined Arnold Schwarzenegger up beside him for a throwing competition.
That's pretty tight. I have this friend I hang out with all the time. He's a 6' white guy who used to be able to dunk, but since his ACL tear, he can't jump as high, but he can hit any and every shot from around the court. When we play pick up basketball around here with whomever (mexican, blacks, whites, Asians <-- who are pretty good actually) he dominates. Kinda funny. He's Irish and is as white as the day is long. :hihi: He never starting in high school due to politics or something. Makes me wonder...
Jules, a great example to support your case is Mike Vick. How much do you think he lifts in bicep curls? No need to answer.
