For anybody that complains about our overall star rating and/or ranking, I'd just like to see which recruits they don't think deserve scholarship offers from LSU & why.

this is a very, very vague description, but since the boom of rivals in the last 5-6 years when they have become a huge part of college football, USC has had the most 5-star signings of anyone.

by a large margin, too, as they haul in 4-5 a year if not more on average.

and yes, they are a good team.

but yes, they also have only won 1 BCS title in that span.

it's all about building a TEAM. sometimes it's not always best to pile 11 "superstars". there is a lot more that goes into it than that.

Not to jump on your case, but that's another bad example for your argument. You sure you're a sports writer?

Yeah...you think our coaching staff said, "You know. We have 25 scholarships...lets go after nothing but 3 star guys." :dis:

I guarantee you that if not for star rankings, and all ANY of us had to judge a recruit was video clips, I KNOW NONE of us could definately tell much difference between 3-star guys from the 5-star ones.

So, my question to you is: WHO FREAK'N CARES!?!?!? We're getting SOLID recruits at positions of NEED! That's all you need to worry about.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. People put too much emphasis on stars. Of the first 100 draft picks, 21 were two star athletes coming out of high school.
