  2. You are one stubborn Tiger! CW is touted by nd and touts himself as a QB guru. He sold that bill of goods to BQ and now the poor guy can't understand why he's dropping in pre-draft polls. I'm not saying BQ should have run away with the Heisman, but he had enough tools that the mighty Charlie should have been able to develop him more than he has.

Lay money on this........CW wants back in the NFL.
  3. Well, I think he has done a good job with ND, but Im sure a 3 time super bowler misses the good ol' days.
  4. No, he didn't. Tin Cup Ty is a liar when he claims otherwise.

The only reason Quinn ended up at ND was because of the intervention of Ndukwe's father. And, there was a huge improvement under the tutelage of Weis. In his first two years, with Tin Cup Ty off playing golf all the time, Quinn was decent but nothing special. Palmer didn't initially get Chow's system and he still struggled in his first season with Chow whereas Quinn got it immediately, and that's where you saw the biggest improvement two years ago. Weis has been coaching ND for the last two seasons, and it was in his first season, that we saw the biggest improvement in Quinn. He blossomed from an okay college QB to the favorite for the Heisman.
  5. So you're saying Quinn blossomed in one year, huh? So for Quinn its OK to blossom and become a Heisman favorite in one year, but for Russell, NO. I really cant understand your logic sometimes, you contradict yourself a lot bitter.
  6. The proof is in the pudding.

All the other schools complain about ND's contract with NBC, but think about it. If those schools could get a similar deal, they'd also do it. The financial benefits and national exposure is too great to turn down. So, if its in the best interests of the schools to get a contract, why are there no other such deals? Its because the networks recognize the limited marketablity of these other schools, where those schools could not support a national audience.

I don't deny that some schools have incredible, rapid support in their area. At times, it seems the whole state of Ohio supports Ohio State and Nebraska supports Nebraska. But, the fact is that this support diminshes once you start going outside that immediate area. How many non-alumni Nebraska fans are there in NYC or California? But, with ND's rich history, where it would crisscross the country to play anybody, ND built up a incredible fan base across the United States. There are so many ND fans, who didn't even attend ND or don't live around ND, but support it with all the passion of ND alumni. How often do you see that with other schools' fans?
  7. Now bitterND, this is one of your better comments. You'll probably get hammered here for it, but it is actually a pretty good assesment of ND's national following. Keep in mind though that this also the same reason that they typically are at the top of both polls for favorite team and most hated team.
  8. Yep! 41-14.

  9. Intervention is a strong word. It was a tip from Ndukwe's father but last I checked it was Ty who offered the schollie, not Mr. Ndukwe.

BQ blossom? Heisman favorite? You must be a writer for the South Bend Daily. The media. with help from university SID's are the ones who toute Heisman favorites. Had Adrian Peterson not gotten injured, he was much more a favorite not to mention that Run DMC was second in the balloting despite limited playing time in a blowout loss against USC.

It did take Carson Palmer a year to get comfortable but he DID get comfortable. Under Chow, Palmer won the Heisman, ended his season on a high note beating the Hawkeyes in the Orange Bowl AND a convincing win against the irish including 425 yds passing and 610 in total offense, the most ever gained against nd. BQ managed just 274 yds passing against USC this last year, didn't win the Sugar Bowl and in fact, had his worst performance ever against LSU.

In all fairness, Brady did win the MSNBC Player of the Year.
  10. Vince young didn't make an impact last year?? I must've missed something.:dis:
