When I watched the sidline activities at the Spring game Spears has the personality, exposure, respect and other stuff to be the leader of this defense. On the offensive side, on the field may be different, but on the sidelines my money is on Wilkerson.

Wilkerson is lookin lean and mean. The best center in college football. He will be a leader on the offense, what a perfect person to have anchoring a stellar offensive line with the best bookend tackles maybe in college football (certainly the SEC) in Livings and Whitworth. Throw in a couple of good guards and this may be the best offensive line ever at LSU. Skyler will lead the receivers, and Justin will lead the best rushing offense in the land. But there are too many running backs for Justin to be the true standout leader of this offense. The wealth will be spread.

Defensively Spears on the line, Turner at LB and our 2 cover corners will be instrumental in leading the best defense in the land. Look for LaRon Landry to takeover where Mr. Hunt left off in being the captain of the defense.

Straighten out the kicking game and LSU wins the NC again. This is the only area that could keep us from winning it all again. I do love the way we kickoff deep in the endzone preventing anyone from starting past the 20 yard line however.

    Man It's time for football!!

I agree with the wealth being spread out this year. Joseph Addi getting the ball on the outside or shallow in the defensive backfield with a corner and safety between him and 6 is going to be beautiful to see come together from the EU this year. Alley "Bruiser" Broussard will be a major player in this running game and Barrington Edwards turns the corner and gets outside all I can say is cue up the Golden Band from Tigerland.. :thumb: :thumb:

All this gives our offense a real chance to have a sucessful passing game with what I hope is a very balanced attack and some of the fastest recievers in the nation.

Hey football Nation "You scared Yet!!"

We can talk about the best coached and fastest defense in the nation if you need more.

I dont know if I agree with this, LSU I believe lost 4 of their lost their last 7 under Randall, he did well in one QTR agains USC, and had to have a Hail Mary pass to get one of those wins (But of course the Arkansas game sort of washes that out)

I am on the fence on Randall, I was NOT a fan of his on the field. He seems to be a good Tiger though off the field in with his teammates. Anyway my theory is if Saban says he gives us the best chance to win, then I will be a supporter of Randall. I trust Saban. But to say he played well when he played I think if you look at his performace, Auburn and Alabama more then anything my opinion he was NOT an SEC calibur QB.

BUT if Saban says hes the man, I will support him until Saban says he is not.

2 things I will say about Randall:

1.) He was a sophomore that season and he has now had basically 1 & 1/2 years to mature and learn the offense. He wasn't good overall by any means but he did have some flashes of brilliance along with steady play. He was very similar to Mauck in that same season against much tougher opponents however had a tendency to turn the ball oer whereas Mauck did not.

2.) If he improves as much as Mauck did he will be a good QB and will start the entire season. All this time spent learning the system should lead to him being much improved in 2004 IMO. To judge a guy while he was a soph or getting playing time in a mop situation as a junior playing with mostly backups is like looking at an NFL QB his rookie or second year and saying he will never be any good.

Randall didn't have the luxury of having last year's defense!

Give Randall, or any of our QBs, last year's defense and they will be successful. Their job is to be a leader and not lose us the game, which is what made Mauck successful.

Personally, I'm rooting for Randall because of all the negative stuff he's had to deal with ... I would love for him to prove those people wrong!

Are we looking for a QB that will just get the job done? B/c i believe with the team we have next year, we could do that with any QB, including Randall. But we want a QB that is not just 'good enough' we want QB that is dominating...one that Lee Corso will even praise.

I appreciate everyone’s input but I didn't want to turn this into a QB thread, I wanted to know who was gonna lead the tigers in TD's this year. I hope that Randall does great. I want to see him surpass MM #'s from last year and lead us to a championship, however if that MF starts throwing consecutive interceptions one after another I hope Saben yanks his @$$ out-of-there. But if he can settle down and secure the ball and make sure the right guys catch it, IM going to root my @$$ off for the guy. :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :helmet: :helmet: :helmet: :helmet: :helmet: :helmet: :helmet: :helmet: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug: :lsug:        :champs: :champs: :champs: :champs: :champs: :champs: :champs: :champs: :champs: :usaflagwa :usaflagwa :usaflagwa :usaflagwa :usaflagwa :usaflagwa :usaflagwa :usaflagwa :usaflagwa :laflagwav :laflagwav :laflagwav :laflagwav :laflagwav :laflagwav :laflagwav
