It could be a good idea, but you risk messing up Smith and Dirks' groove. But, then again, they will have to pitch WHEN NEEDED during the Tourney and CWS, so I think this weekend would actually be a good trial to get them used to pitching in different spots in the rotation.

moving a "good" pitcher up one day in the rotation should not mess them up.

You never know. It doesn't take much sometimes to get inside an athlete's head and mess them up. People get into a routine and get very comfortable with it. Skip always said the Friday night game sets the tone for the weekend, thus creating a little more pressure. Dirks and Smith are obviously in a comfort zone, so why even think about doing it, even if it's a slim chance of messing them up?

And doing it doesn't solve our problem of having 3 solid starters ... it just transfers the problem till Sunday.

But we don't have to worry about that this weekend since Mestepey will start. Hopefully he can end all this talk about taking him out of the rotation.

Exactly. It's not like the SEC tourney and CWS follows Fri, Sat, Sun. format.

Do yuo guys think that with the way Smith is pitching that he will be drafted highly? He has been a solid pitcher the whole time he has been here. I don't follow how the MLB draft projects so I don't know.

since he's a lefty move him up about 5 rounds wherever he would go if a righty.

I'm guessing will be LSU's top prospect in the draft being he is topping out at around 92.

    I'll say 5th round.
