"Quality of life must be considered as well. Fayetteville is a wonderful, college community surrounded by incredible growth. Baton Rouge is a nice city but not as attractive as northwest Arkansas." This guy IS kidding...right? Because if he's not, then I've GOT to get me some of what HE'S been smoking.
ive been reading this board most of the day, waiting to see what happens, just like the rest of you. i decided to hold my tongue until this last comment. have you ever been to NW ark? ive lived there and worked in BR for 6 months so i have a good frame of reference for both. fayetteville is a great place in the foothills of the ozarks. it has low crime, friendly people, and is overall, a great place to be. even the people i work with in La who have been there have nothing but great things to say about it. say what you want, but theres nothing special about BR at all. a few nice places to eat, thats about it. i was thoroughly underwhelmed by BR. now in regards to nutt, i have mixed feelings. most likely, if LSU hires him, your program will return to mediocrity of the pre-saban era. hes a used car salesman, a good motivator but not smart enough to manage the fine details of a football game. should make for an interesting rivalry if he goes, though.
If a person was having to choose between NW Arkansas and Baton Rouge, and did not have roots in either place, I think BR would lose out. I'm saying that from the perspective of a sportsman and a country boy. City folk would probably prefer Baton Rouge. Nutt looks like a country boy to me. By the way, this Nutt to LSU thing is gaining steam. 2 guys on ESPN just now were talking like it's a done deal. IF it is Nutt, I'm going to be verrrrrrry nervous, but I would take a wait and see attitude. NuttFan? Nahhhhh!
You can't measure growth by the building of a new walmart.... wasn't that "Gang" special on HBO filmed in Arkansas... talk about decrease in crime rate, guess the kids are killing each other off.
Were they Trev Alberts & Mark May? If so take two aspirns, a double shot of Crown and call me in the morning
Nope. I turned it on at about 2:55 and they were talking about it. It was not a regular sports broadcast. I had been at the golf course and after listening to them I ran to the computer to see if something happened that I hadn't heard about.
