most of the San Diego staff has already departed for greener pastures. The cupboard is nearly bare ....
I'll be more than willing to come back and eat some crow if I'm wrong but PC is not going to the Bolts. I'd offer up a wager but I'm already in debt over here. :yelwink2:
Because the coaching staff is bare at SD that would give Pete much more control of picking is own staff if SD let's him. Remember, SD understands the position they are in and they want to win bad. Carroll seems to be a perfect choice to keep everyone happy. If Carroll passes this up then I say he may never go to the NFL.
Re: Pete Carroll to San Diego Why would the Miami job "probably" been his dream job, in terms of returning to the NFL? Miami gave Saban the world and , two years in, he lost interest...this alone makes Miami as a "dream job" highly suspect, IMO, for a coach like Carroll. Surely an Alex Spanos whose expressed interest in possibly moving to LA in the future has at some time in the past "expressed interest" in Pete Carroll directly to Pete Carroll.
This story seems all too familiar. Timing's right for Petey to get the heck out of USC. He can got to the Chargers and take the same stance on the USC allegations as Bush. I kind of have the same feeling on this as I did with Saban to Bama. In Bama's case, it seemed odd that for around a month, there was no known activity in the coach search and then bam, the Dolphins are done and Saban's moving. This looks and feels similar. Marty's fired rather unexpectedly from a playoff and very soon Super Bowl contending 14-2 team. They're going to hire a big name coach no doubt. I think Pete has a great chance of being the next coach.
I think the timing could be everything here. Myself and others have thought the timing of Marty being fired and a coaching search is a bit odd unless of course maybe the Chargers already have a new coach before hand and nobody else knows it?
Let's get it right.......it's utla. I can explain if you want. Yes, they won 13-9. Yes, they kept us out of the NC game. :dis: Yes, they are still ruins for 4 years, while I'm a Trojan for life. :thumb: I only wish I'd bet some of ya'll about Ole Miss being in play when it came to JM. I posted at least 3 times that it wasn't anything more than a diversion. I don't post it unless I'm more than 95% sure. :yelwink2:
hope he doesnt go to SD. cant let him get out of college ball without having a matchup against lsu. then again maybe thats motivation for him to leave.:yelwink2:
