I agree that Oakland is a bad idea, but look at the brightside of it, Kiffin is new, and maybe he's better than what we think, maybe he'll become a hell of a coach. If they fix the O-line in free agency, and buy him some more time in the pocket, he'll make big throws. Even if the O-line doesnt meet the expectations, there is no QB in the country that would play better than JR under a bad O-line. He isnt easy to sack at all, plus he will move and make his throws on the move like he does, and his accuracy on the run will amaze every person in the NFL. One main point to be addressed too is the WR situation, if Moss and Porter arent going to step up then the hell with them, trade them and get some frsh hands. And a good thing about Oakland, is they have a good defense, so that would put some pressure off JaMarcus' back.
No QB will do well under the a bad o-line with no time to throw or a run game to hand off to. However, one reason i want JR to go to oakland is that he would probably see instant playing time and thats always a good thing. Maybe i'm just impatient but i'd rather see JR start on a bad team rite now that to see him be a backup or 3rd string qb for a decent team. I would LOVE to see JR have a good year but he hasn't been known to make good decisions when under pressure BUT if you do give him time he will absolutely pick your D apart, college or NFL.
You need to watch the second half of the season, right after the third INT in the TN game. Are you telling me that you are on a 3rd down with 8 seconds left in the game that would decide a W or an L isnt pressure? or perhaps the Ole Miss game, down by 2 touchdowns going into the forth quarter, the chance that the season might be ruined and a humiliating loss to an inferior team, and yet he scores 2 TDs in the forth quarter, that is not pressure, or the 4th down and goal with 14 seconds remaining in the same game? How about the 4th down and 8 conversion in the final drive in the TN game? JaMarcus Russell is a great QB and it is very dissapointing that his own fans dont believe in him. How many plays did he LITERALLY avoid a sack to make a first down? more than I can count. How many times did he roll out of the pocket with defensive players chasing him and threw the ball on the run and side-armed to make a more than a great play? How many times did JR threw WHILE being hit full speed? The bottom line is, I dont think people are remembering how we were at the beginning of the season, our O-line was our worst position, they were rated an E!!! And yet he was good. My point is, people should have more faith in Russell, he is an amazing QB and will possibly become one of the greatest. Ofcourse no one can operate under a bad O-line but I'd take JR on any other QB in the nation to work under a bad O-line, he will produce the most. Now fix that O-line and JR will be on fire. Yes, he will pick on the NFL defenses if he has the time, and yes he might go deep frequently. Wait for JaMarcus and see what he'll do. He'll have some bad games, but which ROOKIE doesn't. The best 2 rookie QBs last year had more INT than TD, so we should be realistic with JR. I say, he'll have a relatively good season, and will impress a lot.
Maybe i worded my response badly but you don't have to tell me all about what JR has done because i have always defended him. Don't get crazy on me, I meant under pressure as in being blitzed and having poor pass protection. He has been lights out at the end of the season, but honestly how much pressure has been put on him? ND got to him once and he fumbled it but he was free to roam around the rest of the game and tore them up. Like i said earlier, no qb will do good with no time to throw, JR is no exception, Peyton still throws picks under pressure, Brees does, everyone does. Don't be so quick to jump to conclusions, if you've read any of my other posts there always in support of the players and coaches. Yes JR can throw while being hit but they are poorly thrown balls and will get picked in the NFL. Thats one thing he needs to work on but i really hope he does well and i do have faith in him.
:thumb: Im not worried about these things, if they'll pay him $60 million, they'll pay a whole lot to train him, from picking up blitzes to picking on defenses:grin:
