How are you "partly aware" of a guy's criminal past?

It's not like Miami started recruiting this guy in January. They probably started contacting the guy midway through his junior year at the latest. I think they'd pick up on the fact that he's getting arrested every few months.

 

I understand that they're going to bring Ray Lewis back to his alma mater
as a part-time coach, to instruct Willie in the proper technique of shivving a player on the bottom of the pile.
