Hey 6-post wonder...be happy with a win in a great game over an undefeated team. The means may not have been exactly what we wanted, but the ends is what matters. We won the game - a GREAT game at that. :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
Wtf are you talking about, dude? Seriously, tell me when he's failed under pressure. Don't say Tennessee, because we all know the ball was taken out of his hands. Come on, tell the rest of us about what games we missed where he's caved in high-pressure situations. Oregon State, Iowa (despite the fact that our D blew the last play), Florida, Auburn, Bama...which one of these games did he goof, again? That's right, none. It's an indisputable fact that JR is a great comeback QB.
Great game by Jamarcus and the tigers. Even more credit should be given to the Offensive line which gave him 4-6 seconds each down to pass the ball. Also those receivers making great catches (even the reviewed ones) to extend the chains. Play-calling was average. Good use of QB draws and swing passes. However, running into a brick wall losing a down was not the way to go. Should have used the pac-ten style of "running" by doing more screen setups, underneith passes, shovel passes, and slants/outs. Let the receivers catch a 3 yard pass and gain 3-4 more on running after the catch.
JR and the backs continue to improve every week...not a bad time to be peaking. Proud of all of them. 2 things I'd like to see JR improve on is throwing the ball away prior to a sack, and making earlier decisions to run when the pocket opens up. Granted he lacks speed, but he does great rumbling on the draw plays. I'd like to see him duck and cover more. I think he can make some YAC if he makes the decision early enough to get some steam going. Nonetheless, wouldn't want anyone else at the helm right now. Love his confidence which enables him to stay calm and make the plays in pressure situations.
