I was hoping that we fell to #5 at the worst. This will hurt us in the BCS standings. If the Coaches poll comes out and we are #7 or #8 we will drop to about 6 in the BCS. Not good. I was hoping for #4 or #5. We brought this on ourselves. We have to run the table either way but now will need a lot of help to get to where we want to be. Brutal.
It's still early....and if we have learned anything this season expect the unexpected...most of those teams ahead of us have some tough games ahead of them...no worries.
We should be focused on the next game and the SECCG. We can't control anything else, why worry. Until we win the SECCG, the NC should be in the back of everyone's minds.
Absolutely. They have their destiny in their hands, and the logical thing is to just focus on the next game each time. No point in looking so far ahead. Just focus on taking care of business, and see how the chips fall into place.
AP has no bearing at all on the BCS - just a poll with no meaning (ask USC). No coaches poll out yet, but expect us to be about 5-7 there. We are #2 in two of the computer rankings released thus far.....DO NOT FREAK OUT!
The BCS is all that matters now. We have beaten some really good teams and the one loss to Kentucky will help us if they continue winning and we see them again in the SECCG. I'll use Florida fans rationale and say it will be a different story on a neutral field.
Agreed that the BCS is all that matters now but consider this hypothetical situation. If number one undefeated USC had gone to 17th ranked Oregon and lost in triple overtime I can guarantee you the AP poll would not drop them below four.
