Not overwhelming but it doesn't hurt. Terry Bradshaw was a great QB but not the brightest bulb in the pack. But he had great physical abilities. On the other hand Peyton Manning doesn't have even half the athleticism of a Bradshaw but his attention to detail and knowledge of the finer points of the game have had as much to do with the player he is as does his arm.

Bradshaw couldn't spell CAT, but his knowledge of football was immense.

That's because Peyton Manning is autistic and instead of playing the piano he quarterbacks.

I've also noticed that Welter got blamed for a lot of blown assignments that weren't actually on him.

Yeah, welter isn't particularly physically gifted, but he didn't fuck up his positioning much either.

Did you also notice that Beckwith was voted SEC defensive player of the week for his outstanding play against ole siss? What he needed was more game reps and after receiving them shows signs of becoming the player he was recruited to be. He should have been the starter game one.

Or maybe he needed more practice reps, it goes both ways. I'm pretty sure the coaches worked tirelessly with him on the practice field & in film study. The guy is a freshman who I'm pretty sure never played this position before.

Kudos to KB for working hard, competing & earning the job. All players should earn their playing time.

He was better than 31 the day he walked onto campus. End of story.

He's a sophomore that saw action last year. Should have been starting against Wisconsin.
