Well, i'd never say never. . . I'll step up to the plate as devil's advocate. Since it's obvious the poster is referencing LSU bball. . . I look at it much like I do the Saints every year. Once you hit the homestretch and your postseason is decided (as in we'll miss the playoffs again), yes, i hope the team tanks and we get a nicer draft pick and they clean house with the coaching staff. Collegiate sports is a completely different deal. But unless they pretty much almost win out and win 2-3 games in the SEC tournament, they'll be left out of the big dance. Brady has to go. I don't care about the NIT tourney (a tournament of losers). So if they lose 2 of the next 4 (very likely), yes i'll root for them to fall on their face and Brady to get booted. I don't in anyway look at that opinion as a "fairweather fan". I think that would be something that would be in the best interest of the program. HUGE difference, to me anyway. //awaits the flame war to come (i'm a big boy i can take it)
The deal here is that us cheering against LSU has no impact on the game whatsoever. When it boils down to it, we aren't going to 'depress' our team into losing...so why would anyone do something so bizarre? Brady is going to lose his job one way or another, us rooting for the team to lose has no impact on that...Brady losing impacts that. If you want to root against the team, just stay home - that has more impact than a foul display of rooting for your team to fail.
