Bring back Dinardo before bringing on Spurrier. Give me a break. The only reason LSU fans think he is an arse because he beat the crap out of us when he could. If Saban was to leave tomorrow, Spurrier would be number one on my list.

Everyone beat the crap out of us in the 90's and that didn't make them an a$$. Spurrier was an arrogant a$$ win or lose, he was a great coach so he hardly ever lost but thats not what made him an a$$ just like Tubby.

If Stoops ever left OU, I would take Spurrier. I like his competiveness and fiery spirit. He says wants on his mind too. He reminds me of Barry Switzer.

Well... not here at LSU but anywhere else - At first thought - YES!

Upon further consideration, he probably won't coach but for another 5 years or so due to age. --- too lazy to find his quoted comments but he's said as much --- He'd be a quick fix for any program, not a long term solution.

you'd have to be insane to think because he is an ass you wouldn't take him as a head coach. if not, you probably wouldn't hold an AD position for longer than say, 2 minutes.

I understand the emotions but you'd have to put that aside in place of common sense. He was basically a modern day bear bryant (record wise and in many instances better) and to think you'd not love him given he would repeat anything near his previous record is delusional. He will attract recruits like no other just on name alone...not to mention offensively he is pure genius. Wonder if the latest rumor that he and Nick will split duties here as HC. That's what I am hearing.

Everybody here says he is a great coach. He WAS a great coach, he got fired from his last job. You're only as good as your last job. the boy is mediocre at best. LSU has better and can do better. Stoops and Richt are both better. let him try to resurect the gators, it won't happen.

lol its not like he was running the wishbone. he changed the face of the SEC with his style still being ran today. its fun to wish/hope he has forgotten how to fit athletes in the fun 'n' gun but that's being a tad optimistic. He wasn't run out of his job....he left to go where many figured he would fail (nfl). He is made for the college game and can have success anywhere (college wise). His only downfall will be himself being uninterested in doing the work.

When someone matches his record for over a course of 10 years (lost 6 games total at home) then you may have a point. til then, please be a tad more realistic.

ummmm........College and the NFL are quite different as far as coaching goes. Just because he didn't have any success in the NFL doesn't mean he can't come back and kick ass or be very successful at the college level.
