I'm thinking the same thing, although the allure of South Beach is still a big factor in the minds of recruits.

The surrounding may play a factor but I think to play for a team that is the only team to win two BCS NC, Tiger Stadium, Constantly putting players in the NFL and WRs in the first two rounds yearly basically, Chance to play with RS amongst others which could be the Top recruiting class, and the list goes on.

The U will have all of those things going for it except for the 2 very recent national championships and playing in a great venue. They've had their share of high NFL draft picks even when they were down and They also have some nice young QB's they've brought in. And they are still admired by many of these young guys, especially the Florida recruits.

Now, I do believe were have even more to offer than UM and if I were a kid it would be a no brainer, LSU all the way.

Not to mention the crime rate in Miami is outrageous.

I would hope that would factor in any sensible parent's minds at the very least.

Trust me there is no allure of south beach, I should have listed it in the Overrated thread, because it belongs there.

You have any 17/18 year old kids? I have two boys in their 20's who both have been to that area in their high school years on baseball trips and vacations and I can tell you they were immensely impressed with S. Beach, the mansions, the partying, the girls, etc. Also, I've read hundreds of quotes from recruits who were very impressed after spending some time there, they might not list S. Beach as the reason for UM being one of their favs but it is almost always a factor.

After they see the prices of partying and living on south beach. They will reconsider that. Visiting South Beach often with friends, because I live no more than an hour or 45 minutes away. I can tell you its highly overrated.

Debose might be down for the MSU game.

LSU looks to be in a slight lead for his services over Florida.

This is a great recruiting battle unfolding (just as Wooten was). Wink.

Will be in for an unofficial visit this weekend.

After Shepard heard Randle and Debose were making the trip, he decided to as well.
