i would think it would be more relevant to post what crowton's teams avg per catch/offensive stats actually were witht the quack attack. oregon isnt that far off the talent mark offensively (defensively another story) and would be a much better indicator. of course it should be higher here if flynn doesnt suck and/or our receivers develop.

lots of new variables for us on offense unfortunately, especially in the passing game. lafell and company have a lot to prove and their development is what im holding this mccarthy dude responsible for but especially recruiting.

Didn't mean to attribute the stat solely to the WR Coach. It was just a point of conversation. I could certainly do more homework to find the number of WR's he's put in the NFL but I'm not ready to go on that hunt just yet. I just prefer to use facts and data so I apologize if my info was so offbase.

Jarrett has never been known for his speed except to Meechigan's secondary.

He also took some knocks for not getting off the line quick enough and struggling with press coverage. Another year would have done wonders for both along with becoming a better blocker.

I don't disagree that Bowe is better and he had a great combine. :thumb: I had problems with a certain receiver from Indy who will now be playing baseball being ranked higher.

That said, DJ provided some great highlight reels and I'll be watching them for a long time to come.

I thought Steve Smith was very good too. I forget which game I'd watched that he took over. He didn't get enough credit imo. What's his status anyway?

Steve Smith is the most underrated WR we've had in years. He's got great hands, he's fast, and he's a game breaker. If it wasn't for him, we might not have won up in Pullman.

He had a terrific combine. He ran a 4.36 40 and the scouts were saying he looked as good or better than Keary Colbert did when he came out. He missed a few games early in the season as did DJ due to injuries.

actually i think jarrett is an excellent receiver but my feeling is he showed up when he wanted to. id take steve smith over him not based on receiving talent but because he seemed to come to play most every week. Plus, hes a lot faster.

i knew dj was going to perform big at the end this year but would like to have seen him not disappear when convenient. the mike williams' comparisons may have some legitimacy but I am not sure. both are big and relatively slow though williams' fate is already sealed.

dj can be good if he wants to. its simply how bad he wants it from what i gather.

Speaking of underrated recievers, I think Buster Davis was very underrated. What are your opinions?

I'm sure I'll regret this but is/wasn't he a LB for FSU?

Actually FSU's Tony Carter had an 86 yard interception and return for a TD in the Emerald Bowl and that was utla's longest pass play for a TD all year.
