Jealous and ucla don't belong in the same sentence honey. Yes we got beat, yes we played horribly, yes it kept us out of the NC game, and yes, it felt lousy for more than just a few days. But jealousy never entered my mind.

Just like you enjoyed beating up on the irish in the Sugar Bowl while Auburn was playing in the Cotton Bowl, I enjoyed beating up on MeatChicken while utla was getting their azz beat down by FSU in the Emerald Bowl. Nothing you can do but move on..........

At the end of the day nobody remembers that except those on the losing end. The final score is what matters.

You think I enjoyed hearing the NCAA officials last summer admit they screwed up 2 key calls in the 2006 Rose Bowl? It would be easy to claim that we didn't get beat fair and square by tejas but it's in the record books now and VY is making the $$. :thumb:

I don't know I think folks around here will remember that game for years to come. It's been what 6 months and I still get really pissed when somebody even brings it up. Also, I remember 2 or 3 calls in that rose bowl going USC's way as we'll.
At the end of the day, the discussion wasn't about USC getting the game taken out of it's hands (like many un-biased national talking heads were even saying about the LSU-AU game), instead let's be honest and say it was mainly because of #1 Vince Young and #2 Peety going for it on 4th and 2 (and not giving the ball to Reggie).

On the surface maybe but White had a much better day. Forget the numbers but he was gettin it done.

I would have at least had Bush in the backfield though. :thumb:

Ok your probably right but I guess my main point with that was people second guessed the call to go for it on fourth down alot more than several questional calls that went both ways for both teams during the game at a nuetral field (though it was in Los Angeles). vs. five or 6 questional calls and 2 or 3 horrible calls that went ALL against us in a home game for auburn. That's all I was trying to point out.

I expect that people around here will think of that game for a long time since it was a painful loss. Oklahoma has as much right as anybody to complain about refs after the refs from the Oregon game virtually destroyed their chances of staying in the NC hunt.

As far as the 2006 RB game, it wasn't just the number of calls going either way, it was the specific calls, the timing, and what was going on in the game at that time. The NCAA actually notified USC that they screwed up 2 CRUCIAL calls, including Reggie's "lateral" which has since been ruled a non-lateral. I have been more than honest on this forum on several occasions and said that the biggest reason we lost was that our D could not stop VY. However, VY would not have been in a position to score that last TD had the officials not screwed up.

Cali is done and out on this.

Yea I definately agree with you on the Oklahoma-Oregon game. They definately need to change the way the replay booth and who is made up of that group of officials is decided. Right now in the Sec, i'm not sure about Pac-10, I believe I heard it's made up of basically home officials. That just makes no sense how you even would hope that if a last minute call needs to be replayed, there won't be some home cookin involved. We sure experienced this in pretty much every away game but esp Au and Tenn games, several horrible replay calls.

I get what your saying about the Rose bowl, I guess if it was my team in the position you are talking about I would have felt the exact same way. I was just saying maybe if Texas had some of their calls go their way they may have put more points up as well. I just didn't member that game being membered as much for the calls as much as the last drive. If that's your team though I understand the frustration.
