1. It is cetainly better than the Chimes po-boy, but I still think the best po-boys in town are at Dempsey's.
  2. I worked in the French Quarter for years skip Mothers to me its overrated and not worth the wait.

Go to Johnny's for your shrimp po-boy. Its on St. Louis and Decatur.
  3. Never gotten over there, but I'll note that.
  4. Daisey Dukes makes a pretty good Po'Boy as well. Great breakfast. And it's 24 hours. On Chartres right across from the side entrance to the Marriott.
  5. What's with the hatin' on The Chimes' poboys?
  6. It's a good po-boy . . . just not a great one. I rate the Chimes highly on some other dishes, like the shrimp and corn soup.
  7. I say skip the skrimp po-boy and get a roast beef debris from mothers. Skrimp po-boys are as overated as Bosie.
  8. I could not agree more Bud

you can get a shrimp any place in Louisiana

Mothers is a one of a kind

but you don't have to listen to this old man that has ate em all!!!
  9. They don't grill the bread in butter. If that doesn't happen, I don't think the sandwhich even deserves to be called a po boy. I also don't like their bread in and of itself. It just doesn't hold up well. I don't like the breading on their shrimp. It comes off way too easily.

I like the food (and beer) at the Chimes. I just don't think they do a very good job with po boys.
