He knows how to catch, he just hasn't had an opportunity to play yet. The kid had 1 fumble & 2 drops in his whole career. Doucet & Bowe had more than that in 1 quarter. Wait until he gets more playing time before label him. You guys said the same thing about Bennie & he prove all of you wrong.
I'm going to assume you are right on that, because I don't feel like looking it up. But I can vividly recall him missing 2 deep passes this season that were dead on. After what, 5 years? Nobody ever said (well, maybe 1 or 2 people) that Bennie would never be able to catch, just that he hadn't ever proven it before last season. He finally came around - great. Nobody is saying that X Carter won't ever be able to be a good WR, just that he isn't one yet.
You must have a vivid imagination because X only droped 1 deep ball in his career. He has caught 2 deep balls for TD's. [/QUOTE]After what, 5 years? X is a good WR waiting for his chance just like RP is at QB.
I didn't say drop, I said miss. Well, when the coaches don't put you in the game because you can't catch, it's relatively safe to assume that they can't catch. Saban didn't put Bennie in because he couldn't catch. Did Bennie all of a sudden start catching or did Miles just see something that Saban didn't? I don't know. Bennie was a nice suprise for this season, but was not a great WR. X. Carter is a tremendous athlete with a lot of speed & high potential to be a good WR, but he isn't yet. He was put in place to succeed a couple times early in the season, and didn't. He will have his chance to prove himself again this coming season.
