As the saying goes, you can't teach speed. Somebody will definitely be willing to spend a mid-round pick on him. Also, most track stars aren't 6'3" like Carter. They tend to be shorter, stockier guys that don't compare well to the prototypical WR body.
You still have to be able to run precise routes, have great hands, and have perfect footwork. A lot of this stuff is instinct and comes natural to the truly good receivers. I'm afraid the X-man just doesn't have it. He is fast as hell though.
I am more bummed out that he isn't running track @ than the fact that he won't be playing college football anymore... He could have helped LSU! to a T&F NC or two... Still, it is quite obvious that he made a GREAT decision and I am happy and proud for him, he certainly deserves all the accolades that he will earn... :thumb:
Nevermind, I found it. 2nd place with a time of 44.76 in the 400m. Not bad. Jeremy Wariner (USA) took 1st place with a time of 43.62
X-man came in 2nd losing to Wariner. Wariner set a personal best at 43.62, and carter lost by a lot at 44.76. I watched a replay and was a little disapointed. He is going to be great, but I have seen him run faster times than that on multiple occassions.
This site has Wariner running a faster time back in Feb. Standing Details: Jeremy WARINER (USA) 400 Metres 02/06/2006 44.31 http://www.iaaf.org/GP06/results/standings/gender=M/discipline=400/index.html
