Again, how can you call a kid who only played 2 years of football a bust? Name anyone from his class at LSU who has lived up to their star rating so far? The kid didn't have a chance to play. Coach Miles wouldn't play him because he thought X didn't buy into his program. You guys don'T know the real reason X didn't play & just make all these stupid assumption with nothing to back them up. LSUDeek, you don't know what you're talking. I will never consider a 2 year kid a bust. I guest if Favorite gets hurt in fall practice & can't play you would consider him a bust? Because he wouldn't have much in the way of career stats either. Just stupid!
Whatever the reasons, and you're right, I don't have any inside info or anything.... a 5 star, top 5 WR recruit who has a total of 9 receptions over 2 years is a bust. I see your point, I just don't agree. Again, I see your point. Marlon wasn't exactly a top 5 defensive tackle recruit or anything though...
A bust? Just because the kid got an offer too good to turn down? Sure he was highly touted out of high school, but who could have forseen this? It is comparable to you graduating with a degree in marketing and then someone handing you an offer to be a pornstar making $1.3423 million a year... you wouldn't turn that down would you? No, I don't think anyone could blame you either--but maybe your old colleagues would view you as a "bust."
There is a good reason why his stats went backwards from his freshman year & it had nothing to do with his abilities. Coach Miles program was just not a good fit for X (personality conflicts). It happens all the time in sports. But anyways 2 year players should be exempt from bust labels. My gosh the kid plays to sports in the SEC, he has to have time to develope since he misses spring. By the way it took Bennie a few years to get playing time because of playing 2 sports.
smart move by XC. he can bring many much more glory to LSU in track than football. heck, if he becomes the next carl lewis or even michael johnson (while an LSU student), it would bring more attention to LSU than a football NC.
well he could tie it. 4,1,4x1,4x4 and maybe a two since he does the 4 and 1 and yes i know that they are different but if he can do the 4 and 1, its not like hell trip on the 2. why wouldnt they be allowed to be sponsored in the olympics. first of all, the whole team is sponsored, nike, adidas whoever it is. and second, thats where all the sponsoring is seen. honestly how many of you have watched more than 10 minutes of a regular track meet?
jo addai didnt perform his first two years, was he a bust? rudy niswanger didnt perform his first two years, was he a bust? the list goes on... and even if he was a football bust, he was a track boom. he is worth two scholarships for the recognition he has brought us and mroe if he can win some golds will we actually get scholarships freed up cuz he mighta been under some track scholarship too, dunno there speculating
