Thanks, I believe in giving credit where credit is due. I've said before that if we don't win the SEC, I hope you guys do. From up here, you seem to be running a class program that has a huge commitment to winning. I am truly jealous.

BTW - Broyles is out completely. KNWA is reporting a buyout could be on the table for Nutt within a couple of weeks. Happy days!

In this case, the blame is on Nutt, completely.

Looking at this from a bit of a different angle, should a man be responsible for the actions of his wife? Well, when that man is the coach of a Div. 1 program and his wife is involved in things of this magnitude, I say most definitely.

I've heard this story from several different people but this is the first time I've seen it in print (don't spend a lot of time reading about Arkansas, mind you.)

Two e-mails sent in December were different. They had an impact on the team and its fan base far beyond the norm.

One triggered official sanctions against the writer from Coach Houston Nutt, and a personal response from Chancellor John White. The other e-mail was read by Nutt’s wife, Diana, and forwarded by her to a Springdale business with a comment that could be considered unflattering toward members of the team from Springdale.
Both were written by the same booster — a Little Rock woman named Teresa Prewett who has ties to the Nutt family.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette has obtained university documents related to the two e-mails that Prewett sent to a variety of people on Dec. 6 and Dec. 7.

We've all seen situations where players undermine coaches, players undermine their teammates, etc. In all of those situations I'd imagine we'd agree, to a member, that those players should be "given the boot."

    But, from the coaches wife?!?

    Cignetti for Broyles?
  4. Re: Ya think our media is harsh? Nutt's roasted over a roaring flame...Ark Link encl

The server was stalling when I tried to edit that...

The point I was making was I received an email last night that said Cignetti was in, Broyles was out. The guy who sent it to me (school affiliation we'll leave unsaid) thought Cignetti was headed to Arkansas.

Just another example of how news can be distorted on the 'net.

Cignetti is taking a position on Alabama's staff, not the position at Arkansas.

OK, it was a South Carolina fan.

Terry, i've not heard anything about Cignetti heading to BAMA. Where did you hear this?
  6. Re: Ya think our media is harsh? Nutt's roasted over a roaring flame...Ark Link encl

He has a direct line to the Football Gods.
  7. Re: Ya think our media is harsh? Nutt's roasted over a roaring flame...Ark Link encl

I first heard it two days ago from two guys that don't know each other. Both reputable. He interviewed yesterday. I don't believe it's been announced officially as of yet (as of 9:15A from those on campus)...but, that's just what I'm hearing. It makes sense because there is a long history between the Cignetti family and Saban dating back to the '70's when Saban had his first coaching job...happened to be under Frank Cignetti, his brother.

I'm not a member of BOL, but I was told earlier this morning they are reporting it.

FWIW, I'm also hearing Geoff Calkins is the front runner, if not the only runner, for the Director of Player Personel.

Thanks for paying that bill for me! You don't know how much of a relief it is not having to sell my food stamps on the street corner since you volunteered to cover my expenses.

I have no respect for Arkansas whatsoever at this point...

They have let Houston Nutt stumble around for way too long!

Nutt should have been shipped out shortly after that Music City Bowl fiasco where all the Arky players were bent over on the sidelines puking their guts out because of the binge they were on the night before.

They were beat up by Minnesota.

Just another Big Ten opportunity to claim conference parity.

Nutt is a control freak who has no control!
  9. Re: Ya think our media is harsh? Nutt's roasted over a roaring flame...Ark Link encl

Understand your point but those lesser Bowls are a big party. Hell, if I brought a team to the Music or......say, the Independence bowl, I might not even show up for the game. :hihi:

So much for the rumors that Nutt is history. He's been given a raise so it certainly appears that while Broyles may be retiring they have Nutt for at least one more year.

I've never been one that puts a lot of faith in the ole' "vote of confidence" by AD's or BOT members. BUT, considering the battle with Nutt, the angst felt by the fan base, to give the guy a raise and bump him over 1M a year doesn't seem to indicate that he'll be fired, or resign, in the next few weeks.

All of that talk seems to be nothing more than wishful thinking on the Hog fans part.

While I haven't looked for it, I'd imagine there will be, or already is, a report out on it now.
