1. Only it's not.

The sole remaining argument by the pro-BCS people for keeping the existing system was that "every game is a playoff". Putting Bama in the NCG has forever destroyed that argument, because it effectively made the 11/5 game completely meaningless.

The BCS people better hope LSU wins this game, because with the current mood among the majority of fans and pundits, a Bama win will be the final straw that breaks the system.
  2. Thanks for sharing this article. It was a long, but eye-opening read. And it's left me feeling even worse for the NCAA than I did before.
  3. Agree. But, its just one viewpoint. There are so many variables in this equation of Div 1-A, FBS, or whatever you call it, that the fix is complicated. It is eye opening that part of the fix may be "on the fix" so to speak, and are not really motivated to do so. Hopefully, some altruistic leadership comes to the surface and gets the system corrected over time. I was hopeful Emmert could be that point person, but, as the article eludes to, the cooperation of Univ. leadership is essential. College football is so popular, yet so F'd up w/ the non-playoff, bowl system. I feel frustrated and disappointed, too, but at least the Tigers are at the top this year:grin:
  4. A good read.

I wonder how many tickets Temple sold to the New Mexico bowl?

Hahaha, that's just horrible RT @Deadspin: Nevada Has Sold 10 Tickets For Its Bowl Game deadsp.in/vUmAqt

Nevada Has Sold 10 Tickets For Its Bowl Game

Hawaii is a long way away from everything, true. And the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl doesn't really care, because Nevada is on the hook for the entire allotment anyway. (It was 5,600 when the Wolf Pack played this game in 2009.) Sounds like a lot of military personnel are going to get to watch some free football! [Reno Gazette-Journal, via SBNation]

    OUCH !!!!
