A tragedy for all progressives CNN+ it’s shutting down and laying off its employees. What will those 10,000 subscribers ever do?
They are going to get a rebate on their subscription and realize what a fucking waste it was to begin with. Everyone is going to realize that streaming has become a racket and you are no longer saving money by falling for these stand alone subscription services. It was great in the early days. Netflix had almost everything and all you needed was a digital antenna to get local channels. Then Disney pulled their content from Netflix. Then HBO. So you have to pay for 3 services to get the same content you did in one. At least Disney+ has Hulu and ESPN+ in their package. All these stand alone subscriptions are a bunch of crap. Peacock, Paramount+, Discovery+, Starz, BET+, CNN+ and a bunch of others show that we have come full circle on streaming savings and it is nothing more that the big steal like cable. Stick to the 4 or 5 channels you really watch anyway.
What moron thought CNN+ would be a good idea? There are so many free news channels and opinion channels already.
I don’t know. The previous ownership group liked the idea. Everyone is caught up in the exclusive content subscription services today. Gotta make that premium exclusive content dollar. I think we are going to see a lot of failed stand alone streaming services. We have reached the saturation point. Consumers cutting the cord was the thing to do 10 years ago. Now we pay extra for bandwidth and extra for each piece of entertainment. The advantage in savings is close to zero.
