OU also got screwed on the PI call. OU tipped the Org pass then the DB makes contact with the WR and they call OU for PI. Exactly opposite of what happened to LSU. Somehow Oregon gets the PI call and LSU doesn't. The only thing I can think is that they thought contact was made right when the ball was released because they did make contact at the start of the slant route.
whoa there little doggie... I never said I hate OU, I said screw OU. Apparently that play was reviewed by replay and there was not "indisputable" evidence to overturn the call on the field. that is a failure of the replay system - refs see things realtime from bad angles and mistakes are anticipated. thing is, OU should have never put themselves in that position in the first place.......up 13 with 3 minutes to go. the onside kick is the most exciting play in football many say because it is quick and unpredictible...........so I will empathize with you that you all came out on the wrong end of the excitement. by the way, welcome to the board!:thumb:
Overreaction understood man. You are more than welcome to lick your Ref induced wounds along with the LSU fans. Because we understand how you feel.
sojon..... we certainly feel you. It's amazing how such big games hinged on blown calls and you are right it was blown. Was really hoping to see OU take down the "Other team" in the slac 10. At least OU can still play for a conf. championship- OU takes down Texas and Texas beats Nebraska. Your team still has a lot to play for- good luck. I apologize for our first exchange, my initial assessment of you was wrong. I thought you were just posting to flame.
Thing is, I don't care about OU. Doesn't mean I hate them, it's just that I only care about us getting robbed. Let's not kid ourselves. OU wasn't going to finish undefeated and that loss didn't cost them a possible spot at a NC game.
That was pretty bad. I think the worst is the fact that OU actually recovered the ball and it's obvious they had the ball. I think that #23 wasn't demonstrative enough that he had the ball. He just picked it up non-chalantly like it was no big deal.
The president of OU wants the refs suspended for the rest of the season and the game erased from the record. No winner. Meaning that OU will still be undefeated if that happens. And LSU can't even get a "whoops".
