I think that due to the limited amount of days between games we almost have to start Lane, I don't want to risk starting someone like a Meier, Nall, Faircloth, etc. But what does concern me some is that the State staff and players will look film of each at bat they had vs Lane and figure out what they did wrong and try to make corrections. I have feeling that if it is not Lane than it would be Faircloth. But I just don't see what else Smoke can do. We'll find out soon enough.
They can study film until their wives come home (get it?) but if Lane's stuff is working, they can't hit him.
I hope so. Lane does appear to getting better, especially in the early innings. Just that when you face a team twice in a week it can have an adverse effect. Of course, we will be facing their guy again too.
I would think that would be a fair statement, with Dirks being the second option because of some unforeseen circumstance.
To me I think the starting rotation will work itself out. I'm more worried about our relief pitchers after Determan who do we throw?
Big Taco and Faircloth. Possibly Eric English and Justin Meier as well. Stay the hell away from cahill and nall.
i'm one of the most optimistic guys on this board BUT.... lets see did he not just give up 4 runs in 2/3 of an inning?
