He's going to have to grow-up in hurry to handle the Tiger pass rush. But we'll talk about that after we take care of the third bulldog team in row!!

Yeah, we saw how well he handled an attempted comeback vs the Vols....Nice INT, buddy...

    Good...start him.

  4. Not only that, we still have the La Tech Dawgs coming up.

Too soon. Leak might be the best young QB in the world, but HS football did not prepare him for the weekly beatings he will get in the SEC. I bet that Leak will not finish the year as the Florida starter, and the move to make Leak the starter will cause problems within the team. Mark this date down, this was the move that sealed Zook's fate at Florida.

Yeah, what's with all the Bulldog teams . . . is this some kind of LSU record (most consecutive games against teams named Bulldogs). I know Leathernecks is a stretch, but they did have a Bulldog on the helmets.

Grossman sure managed as a true Freshman... and he tore us to pieces that year.. It can be done.. and it can be done at Florida too, don't look past him yet.

Starting Leak was a move Zook has been avoiding, but Ingle Martin is not the answer for them. I question the move to start him after 4 games played with a road game in the SEC. Seems like a bad move. UK is very capable of beating UF in Lexington f Leak struggles. If Zook started the season with Leak like he should have, the Gators would be much better off right now.

    Some insight,

The BullGator Boosters ($$$) have been whining for Leak to start all season so that is nothing new. They are pissed it took Zook this long to decide. Zook's fate is already sealed, Leak will have nothing to do with it. Losses to FSU and UM last year and again this year won't cut it, even for a new coach still learning on the job. Losing to UT and UGA will be the nail in the coffin.

Wuerffel and Grossman both started as Freshman at UF, so Leak starting as a frosh is not some new unheard of practice at UF. Leak is a gunslinger that stays in the pocket and likes to go deep, Ingle Martin is a scrambler that can't throw deep. The Boosters at UF have been calling for Martin's benching all season.

There is a power struggle right now at UF between Zook, Zaunbrecher and Larry Fedora, the Ex-MTSU OC. Zaun has the title of OC but Zook confidant Fedora is calling all the plays. That is why Florida's offense doesn't resemble Marshall's under Zaunbrecher, it resembles Middle Tennessee State's under Fedora. That is why Grossman looked so horrible last year even though Zaun produced such QB's as Kresser, Pennington and Leftwich while at Marshall, not to mention some guy named Hodson at LSU.

Zook and Fedora are run based, ball control, defensive minded guys, no passing downfield. Zook is also a control freak, and has squashed Zaun's passing attack since it is risky. The times Grossman went deep last year he was calling Spurrier's plays as that is all the players knew in the early part of the season.

Zaunbrecher was brought in by our AD (Jeremy Foley) to sell tickets to the fans and box suites to the boosters since a new expansion was being built in the Swamp when Spurrier left. He was ALSO brought in to keep Grossman and Jacobs from going pro with the promise he would run a wide-open pass happy attack. The Boosters and fans were told Zaunbrecher would bring his prolific wide-open Marshall offense (Only one to put up equal offensive numbers to Spurrier's) to UF and they bought it, so did Grossman and Jacobs. Only thing was Zook and Fedora are life-long best friends and Fedora came in knowing he would get the OC job even though his title was RB and WR coach.

Under Spurrier, UF played MTSU in 00' and Marshall in 01'. A lot of Gator fans have watched those two games on tape and UF's offense under Zook and "supposedly" Zaun is an exact duplicate of the MTSU offense UF faced in 00'. Larry Fedora ran MTSU's offense in 00'.

UF's current offense doesn't come close to resembling the Zaunbrecher led Marshall offense we faced in 01'. That is why we resembled the Keystone Cops on offense last season and against Miami and Tennessee this season so far even though we are LOADED with Blue Chip studs on offense. Our scores against quality opponents this season are deceiving, our defense has been scoring and we have scored off a few turnovers.

We couldn't score a TD to save our lives against UM and UT in the 3rd and 4th quarters, I won't even bring up last years games. With all our talent and Zaun's track record at Marshall, it doesn't add up. We are running the same Mickey Mouse offense that Larry Fedora ran at MTSU, that gimmicky offense worked in the SunBelt Conference, but it don't work in the SEC.

Zaunbrecher is simply a pawn, he will either quit in disgust if he is smart or he will be the scapegoat at seasons end in order for Zook to save his job. All of this will lead to Zook's departure in the long run as he is nowhere near capable of coaching a Big Time Div-1 school and he is killing our program.

Zaun and Fedora are also fighting over QB's, Zaun and Leak are tight because Leak is a pure passer, Fedora and Martin are tight because Martin is a scrambler. That is one reason the QB shuffling has been going on. Now with the announcement that Leak is starting, the hope is that the AD told Zook to pick a QB and that Zaun will be calling plays or else.

We will know this Saturday who is calling the plays, if we continue to throw side line to side line, effectively sealing off a route and tackling ourselves, and run the dad-gummed bubble screen 15 times a game it will be Fedora. If we happen to throw the ball longer than 25 yards down field and air it out with the vertical game it will be Zaun.

The UF program is in serious disarray right now and you guys oughta love it.

Sit back and watch all this unfold...

Grossman had a few things that Leak dosen't have, like a great O line, great receivers and a good running back. And Visor Boy was his coach.

I thought Leak looked better than Martin early in the Tennessee game. In fact he led the offense on a crisp drive only to have a WR end it with a fumble. I was surprised when, on the next possession, Martin was back in the game. After the game was lost, Leak came back in and the outcome was predictable.
