The up and coming coach says no, goes to Texas. The established coach says no, stays at FSU The guy who did a damn good job coaching the team and really wants to be here is hired. Looking back, it's defensible. So, going back a few months, not knowing how bad it would be, who should LSU have pursued/hired?
All the coaches in the top 25 at least should have gotten a phone call. More than one should have been interviewed. We were "supposedly" told no by two targets, with the time we had a more in depth attempt should have been made.
We had 3 months to interview coaches. When Jimbo said no and Herman (who had no intention of coming here) went to tu we had no other options because they didn't do a search
What I haven't heard yet are any names. Just a "someone else, dammit!" attitude. Which is kind of a cop out. If you were in the AD chair, you fired Les after game four, your top two replacement targets said no......who would you have wanted?
An equally horrible scenario is that no one wanted the job because of the way Miles' firing was handled.....
