Remember Jemayel Phillips? He was a 6-7, 360-pound monster offensive lineman from Winnfield who LSU passed on a couple of years ago. The Tiger coaches took a little heat from some North Louisiana folks for letting Phillips get away to Nebraska, but as the Shreveport Times reports, <http://www.shreveporttimes.com/html/BB89A63E-FEE4-45F0-8895-F19BC8D30FE9.shtml> it looks like Nick Saban knows what he's doing.
I edited my comments. Made them without reading the article. still wish we recruited Anthony Thomas Though.
Coach Saban almost seems to have some kind of sixth sense when judging the character of these kids...and that's a beautiful thing. Things run so much smoother for a program if a coach isn't having to bail players out at 4 am and then hush it up. They can put all that much more effort into teaching football. BTW, just what is "maintaining a disorderly house"? Man, if that's a crime these days, they're liable to come handcuff me and take me away at any time.
those cops come to New Orleans they can arrest just about everyone in the city since its basically a huge party especially during Mardi Gras, or when we won National Championship.
I also thought the "disorderly house" charge sounded bogus but I infer there is some drug related connection, like known dealers hanging around or something. But what really made be happy we left this guy alone is his behavior at UL-Ruston. Missed practices, missed meetings and insubordination to an assistant coach? No thank you very much. Sounds like a perfect fit at Nebraska, though. Related to Lawrence?
