    Van signs 8 players for next year.

    1) LaSondra Barrett, a 6-2 forward from Murrah High School in Jackson, Miss.;
    2) Ayana Dunning, a 6-3 post from Eastmoor High School in Columbus, Ohio;
    3) Destini Hughes, a 5-10 guard from Kennedale High School in Ft. Worth, Texas;
    4) Taylor Turnbow, a 6-2 forward from Tucker High School in Stone Mountain, Ga.;
    5) Crystal Riley, a 5-5 guard from Hillcrest High School in Memphis, Tenn.;
    6) Courtney Jones, a 6-2 forward from Midfield High School in Midfield, Ala.;
    7) Swayze Black, a 6-3 forward/center from Brookhaven High School in Brookhaven, Miss.,
    8) Erica Brown, a 5-10 guard from Tallahassee Community College and Dillard High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., complete the LSU signing class.

    With his proven track record I knew Van would bring in a lot of big time talent here to LSU. Which has established itself as an elite womens BB program. With Van at the helm Im sure LSU can take it a step further and win the title.

    Looks like a great class. Surprising not to see any Louisiana girls on that list. Is it just a down year for our state or what?

    Regarding Louisiana girls, I don't recall any names on Hoopgurlz of top palyers from the state. I do know that that little school, Iota, is ranked as a top 25 team nationally but individually I don't know of any outstanding individual players.

    La Tech took 3 kids from Alabama in the early signing period so they weren't looking in-state either.
