For those that don't want to sift thru the 13 other threads about McKnight, supposedly USC is out, and it's a 2 horse race between LSU and Ole Miss. Some are even saying he is a lean to Ole Miss. Ole Miss makes sense as he may want to be the next McFadden (carrying a mediocre team to national prominence as a one man wrecking crew). McFadden did get lots of pub and finished 2nd in the Heisman balloting as a sophomore. Not too shabby on a team run by fascists. Otherwise, it makes no sense to pick Ole Miss over LSU. Talk amongst yourselves.
Well, it sounds reasonable. But if he is seriously thinking of Ole Miss, doing like McFadden, he has to eliminate championships from his dictionary. D-MAC is truly the best RB in college football, that's why he is able to do the job he is doing, but he also paid for that, he gets injured more often than any other player in the SEC, and that's a big risk.
Well you can't argue with the path that McFadden's college career has taken him.....NFL is drooling over this kid as a Sophomore. Depends if that's good enough for Joe McKnight. My thought is that this young man wants more than just the limelight, he wants a championship (especially playing for one of the elite High Schools in the country who is in contention for a state championship every single year). He has to have the confidence in his skills as a player that he can step right in and contribute in 07 and that LSU has as good a chance at a NC as anyone in the upcoming 3-4 years. So he can have the limelight and the NC. I say LSU all the way.
Yeah, but what I'm saying is that D-MAC is a proven beast, the no. 1 RB in college football hands down. The guy is superfast, talented and VERY physical. These are the main reasons for his success. So it's a gamble to do such a thing, but the results are good if you do become successful.
So basically he could look at it as a gamble to get hurt due to a mediocre supporting cast on offense at Ole Miss, versus having to share duties with other (near) equally talented players on LSU.
I guess it might be that he wants to get the most PT perhaps. He knows at LSU that KW and AB are going to share carries with him. But at Ole Miss, he can be the king, he would probably be the one who would get ALL the carries.
He could definitely be the Reggie Bush factor on offense in these next 3 seasons (and maybe 4 if he doesn't go Pro as a junior). If he truly wants to be a multi-dimensional threat like Bush, then LSU is the place to go to support such a player (especially with Crowton now as the OC, he can be quite creative). He doesn't need to carry it 25 times a game to be the man. He can get 200 all purpose yards a game and only carry it 8 times. He may want it that way. Keep the risk of injury down. 8-10 carries, 6-8 catches, a couple of big punt returns, oh yeah, a mega star in the making. He's Kevin Faulk but utlilized correctly in the passing game as the big difference.
I Agree.:thumb: The best thing for Joe is to be a Bush for LSU, we'll utilize all his skills effectively, and he'll get to show all that on national media. I just see him as a Running back if he goes to Ole Miss, but he'll get all the carries. Anyways, it's his choice and good luck to him wherever he chooses to go. But if he goes to Ole Miss, he'll be a tiger bait every season!!:hihi:
How many Ole Miss games are going to be nationally televised next year? How many LSU games? Thanks. Goodnight. Drive safely.
