So, do USC's commitments bail out on them if harsh sanctions come down? Losing some scholarships might actually loosen up some talent logjams over there. But bowl bans and other sanctions might discourage some high-profile recruits. The under-the-table payoffs will damn sure go away for a while, too.
1. I think the jury is still out on how "harsh" any sanctions will actually be. I for one am not expecting anything Earth shaking from the ncaa. 2. IMO the sanctions would have to be really harsh for anyone currently on the roster to jump ship. I think it will have a bigger effect on future recruiting if anything.
Unless they get really tough sanctions losing the under the table payoffs will hurt their recruiting the most.
I tell you what, the Pac 10 isn't exactly getting weaker. USC even without sanctions, could be the 5th best team in the Pac 10 this coming season. And being that they don't have a real coach, they could fall further.
Now makes sense why they got such a mediocre coach in Kiffin. Nobody else wanted to go there I'm sure. This will most definitely hurt their recruiting simply because they won't be competing for NCs... This should help us with some LA guys like Mickey Johnson and Rasco too.
You mean to say that Coach O's taking his shirt off won't bring in top recruits or keep the ones that have signed on already? C'mon now.... Say it isn't so. :hihi:
They were talking last nite on ESPN radio that it looks like 3-5* and 2-4* recruits for the 2011 and 2012 recruiting classes have already taken USC off their lists, of which USC was their top choice.
