Hey Guys. @StaceyO is a longtime member here and she and her family need your prayers. I'm reposting, with permission, her Facebook post. "For all of my Facebook friends, I am currently sitting beside my dad, Curtis Varnado, in an ICU unit in Baton Rouge. Early yesterday morning, he collapsed at home and went into cardiac arrest 3 times once first responders arrived to transport him to the hospital and once after. In short, he is on life support, and his prognosis is grim. Any thoughts and prayers are appreciated. I would like to give thanks to the flight attendant on American Airlines 3696 from DFW to Baton Rouge, who was so sensitive to how upset I was, even handing me a handwritten note of encouragement as I left the plane, uncertainof whether my dad was still alive or not. I am thankful for four of my uncles and three of my aunts who stayed with my mom until I could be with her and for their continued support. I am thankful to the family of Mrs. Velma Williams, a fellow ICU patient. They and their pastor included our family in their prayers yesterday and are still checking in on us today. Ms. Williams is awake and speaking today, which is wonderful. I am thankful to my teammates and colleagues at Wilson Middle School, many of whom are like family, as they take care of my students in my absence. And now we wait, thankful I have been able to hold my wonderful father's hands, even though they are cold. And we wait, not knowing what tonight or tomorrow will hold. And the pictures of my dad here are the ones I have shown to the nurses, so they can see who they are caring for." For those of you so inclined, please say a prayer for her dad. She expressed to me how this board is like family to her. Thanks.
Praying for comfort for your father, you, and your family. For wisdom for the doctors and caregivers at the hospital.
