A cat does not have the higher thinking ability or developed frontal cortex to recognize or internalize the pain it causes to the mouse. The cat may instinctually respond in the game of catching the mouse, but it does not know that it is causing pain. And, yes they are stupid. back in my early days of going to Catechism I always had questions around who is God and why do y'all know so much about him and I don't see him. That a priori acceptance did not exist for me. You have to believe without evidence of the actual being, just what people say God represents, and it was just people talking words to me. That is the great debate. What is the first cause? What was the universe before there was a universe? If God is creation, what did it do before creation? If God is something, what created that something? It leads to an infinite regress argument. Unexplained scientific principles are just stuff we haven't figured out yet. We continue to fill in the gaps as time goes by. No one has answered the ultimate question, what was before there was? Will science finally reach the end of the line and find St. Peter at the gate? How can we fathom God if we cannot fathom an object in the 4th dimension? If the second cannot fathom the first, how can there be a conclusion? It seems like God is a place holder for shit we don't know. Life is not a force against the law of entropy. Life is gravity. It is weak forces. It is the law of attraction. But there is always pull and expansion to counter it. Interesting you say that without considering the world as a whole. Hindu, Buddhism, the Native American beliefs, did they all suffer from the same misogynistic view of the world before Judaism came along? Did we Christians bring the word of God to the raping, amoral heathens? How do you know you experienced a God moment? How does that separate itself from luck, chance, the natural order of life?
